My Idea of holiday weekend happiness is strolling the flea markets, yard and barn sales that roll out right about....today!! Bring on the summer red, white, and blue fun in the sun! Enjoy a great Memorial Day Weekend....and official kick-off to sweet Summer Days! : D

New Breakfast China

Happy New Year Everyone! I wanted to share with you my new china pattern I picked up for myself at Traditions during the week before Christmas....sort of an early gift to myself  ; )

This is our table set for our breakfast Christmas morning. I've always longed for a blue Christmas and when I saw these soft blue flowers, I was smitten at once! It's just a partial set with only 6 plates, 4 saucers, and 2 cups but just enough to pull off my blue breakfast Christmas dreams....

Sparkling apple juice, Daddy's homemade cinnamon raisin bread french toast smothered in homemade Maine maple syrup (thank you Post Family!), and my coffee with eggnog....heavy on the eggnog, please. : D

Merry Mayhem

 

I've come to the realization many years ago that for me, Christmas and Holiday time do not always equate to calm, quiet, relaxed time just mellowing out in front of a fireplace. So I've learned to equip myself with one essential prerequisite in order to achieve actual, undisturbed, unabashed, uncompromised relaxation during the Holidays.....

 

....wear really large blinders upon entering the kitchen. 

And if those don't work, advance to the jumbo-size ++++++! : D

Christmas Eve Day

We aren't actually able to celebrate Christmas until Monday since hubby has to work all day tomorrow. But we're still getting into that Holiday swing today. The stockings are hung, etc. etc. And we have snow! : D
