Hope you're all enjoying a fantastic....and sunny....July 4th Weekend! My husband has to work all weekend so we squeezed in a coastal drive to Camden earlier this week...just as summer is bursting into all its glory. Sorry about the photo above. I had to take that one thru the windshield. The rest of the photos are at least windshield-less!
We browsed, we shopped, we munched on nachos on the deck of the Camden Deli overlooking the bay. We fed ducks and breathed in the scent of all those raucous roses everywhere. Coming from dry, hot, scorched Texas, it still amazes me how flowers just thrive and literally billow all over themselves...with hardly any help at all. Window boxes and hanging baskets were stuffed...and overflowing.
I checked out the Camden Merchants Cooperative (behind the little grocery market in the middle of Main St.). Some great buys in there! Even saw a rooster painting that I saw auctioned off this past Monday....now I know where she's selling off her stuff! (She beat me out of a painted blue table I was bidding on). Win a few, lose a few! ; )
Later we drove down to the Samoset Resort to check out the renovation they did over the winter. The upstairs still looks the same, but the downstairs restaurant, bar, and patio seating is beautiful....along with the incredible ocean view. People have been enjoying that view since the ferries brought them up in the 1800's!
Overall a gorgeous day along the Maine coast....hope y'all enjoy the views and window shopping, too! : D
